He forms certain attitudes and opinions which he keeps the rest of his lite. The influence with which he comes in contact make up an important part of his character development. No teachers have more responsibility than those who teach freshmen. It is their iob to instill in a student a sense of responsibility to his school, his community, and his country. They must uphold ideals of character and conduct that will be beneficial for the student to follow. 2 6 i c a i o n Mrs. Ozella Yort Not only the freshmen, but the whole high school as well, loves and respects two of our freshman English teachers, Mrs. Yort and Mrs. Short. They are known to all for ,jlfff X their friendly smiles and cheery words. Their patient instruction and understanding have Y' meant much to all their students. With their wise guidance and Christian influence, they xi have affected the lives of their students morally, as well as intellectually. ,X V To them, in appreciation for all they have done for us and our school, we, the staff, dedicate the Crossroads of 1955. 3 '4' Contents Administration Hall Of Fame Classes 4 Campus Cut-Ups Student Organizations Advertisements Athletics u Mater a spot l'lI always cherish Down nn sunny Tennessee he is i i l 14 the warmth of schoolday friendshipi Mean so much to me- Q s 1 Where the boys are brave and stalwart i M And the girls exceeding fair- ohg the huns of ofa Whitehaven r will find my heart right there. Since the club was organized, about thirty-five members have obtained their license. An amateur radio operator's license entitles one to operate a radio transmitter of his own. Many amateurs in the United States and foreign countries have been contacted from the school station. Members may be in the club for one year without having a license, but to qualify for membership the second year, they must have an amateur's license. 5 1 I ' w bile all Seniors and Juniors, lst row, left to right, William Worley, Harold Simmons, Paul Haire, W4TJI, Vice President Freeman Douglas, W4THD, President, Don Wright, WN4HTV, Secretary and Treasurer, Billy Mosby David Rainey, W4CLT. 2nd row, Len Vandiveer, W4BOY, Gentry Hull, W4GBF, Jim Allen, Morris White George Cook, W4DVG, Sanford Cox, Ken Parks, W4FSC. 3rd row, Jimmy Hammers, Carl Bern- hofts James Pope, James Prichard, Jackie Harold, Bobby Singleton, KN4BHM. 92 Radio Club Station W4HZB S Antenna f -1 '-5 Xi' . 55:55 Q.. s I 1 . -f T:2g::Xgi:f..- i 3 X 2 AK QISEYEIEEEEES- ' ' to ,221 f - to we ,j f The 't g v xi k ' Q c,fi'Q1'?f - A :Si-: 2:5 Q Q O, ' 2 , .
