On the morning of the election the campaign managers introduced each of the candidates to the student body via the P.A. system. Later in the day, while representatives from the P.O.D. classes manned the polls, properly registered students cast their bal- lots. The following Friday at an assembly, the new pres- ident, Bill Gornall and the vice-president, Bob Leonard, were inducted into office by the outgoing president, Nancy Sherman. Surprise of the morning was the tape recorded farewell speech of Joel Pardee, former pres- ident, who had moved to Colorado shortly before the election. To close the impressive ceremony, Sharon Wells and Ted Moore lit the traditional candles which signify the aims of Student Council. The candidates examine one another's campaign signs.
