Newhart scores most JV points Junior varsity The junior varsity, coached by Chet Pieczynski, ended with a record of 22-4. Sophomore Chris Newhard, who also suits up for varsity, led the scoring with 394 points. Rick Steckel, another sophomore who suits up for varsity, had the second highest point total at 265. “The reason for the success of this year’s team” says Coach Pieczynski, “was the balanced scoring. Six different players were high scorers for one game or another. Six players averaged over 5 points per game, but only one averaged in double figures for the year.” Gig goes down 120
