Frosh undefeated in 9-game season Freshmen Missed tackle Pile up Coach Tony Cocca led his team through an undefeated season with nine wins. When asked about the season. Coach Cocca replied, “It's been a total team effort.” For their first game the Little Zephs came out on top beating Central Catholic 22-6. Dennis Laub intercepted a pass and ran it back 63 yards for a TD. Jeff Buskirk and Dave Keschel also scored with Ron Kuklinski getting the extra point. Whitehall demoed Becahi 46-8. On one play Scott Bortz took the ball on a 73-yard break-away for a TD, and on another he connected with Laub for a 20-yard touchdown pass. Other scores were made by Buskirk, Kuklinski, Scott Quinn and Jack Gill. Whitehall rode over the Catasa-qua Rough Riders 42-0. Gill led the scoring with two touchdowns. Laub, Quinn, Buskirk and John Marushak all got on the board by scoring one TD apiece. Whitehall had little problem with Easton’s Red Rovers as they defeated them 24-7. Whitehall annihilated Freedom 44-0. Whitehall’s scoring brigade consisted of Keschel with two TD’s, and Gill, Kuklinski, Buskirk, and Bob Grantz with one TD each. The Konkrete Kids were like wet cement as the Little Zephs ran through them 46-8. The Zephs were scheduled to play Nazareth, but Nazareth had to forfeit due to disciplinary action. Liberty was defeated by a score of 20-8. Buskirk, Keschel, and Laub teamed up to score three touchdowns. The freshmen wrapped up their season with a 20-16 win over P’Burg. 104
