Songs like Two Young Brothers and The Battle of New Orleans were songs of war which overshadowed west- ern ballads. Awards were presented by the entertain- ment industry for outstanding performances. The Oscar awards for the motion picture in- dustry went to David Niven and Susan Hay- ward, the Emmy award in television was given to Fred Astaire. Arthur Godtrey's illness dealt a blow to per- tormers as he underwent cancer surgery. QUEEN CITY - Allentown, the Queen City, is known for its cleanliness and light standards. Here an Allentown girl demonstrates the flower-decked standard favorable in spring and summer. Flags bearing the emblems of the United States, Allentown Red Cross, and United Fund can be seen waving in the breeze. Allentown is located four miles from Hokendauqua.
