QCII Whitehall Township School District is headed by Professor Clarence M, Gockley, superintendent of schools, who executes the will of the Board of Edu- cation. This board is composed of seven men elected by the citizens of Whitehall Township. Under the superintendent is the principal, Mr. George Steckel, who advises and directs the faculty. Mr. Avery Brundage, president of the Inter- national Olympic Committee, makes his closing speech to the crowd at the Cricket Ground. The symbolic flag was later handed to Melbourne's mayor for sale keeping until the games of the XVII Olympiad in Rome. Just as the president does everything possible for the benefit of the Olympians, so do the school olticials for the students and community. OOO
