Not iust the les- son in a book . .. Or how the rivers flow But how to choose the proper path . . . Wherever they may go To understand eternal truth And knowsthe right from wrong . . . And gather all the beauty of A flower and a song For if I help the world to grow . . . In wisdom and in grace Then I shall feel that I have won And I have filled my place . . . And so I ask Your guidance, God .. . That I may do my part .. . For character and confidence . . . And happiness of heart.

Belongs to them indeed Who serve their country or their state Or till some local need But in another sense it seems It ought to be applied . , . To everybody everywhere . . . Who wants to keep in stride Because each citizen is one Who is or ought to be A servant to the public in His own community He ought to be un- selfish and Contribute all he can To make the world o better place . . .
