Second edition to Whitehall Hugh School built in 1948 scandal but can you imagine high school without the Junior Prom the Senior Farewell? Gazing into their crystal ball the high school set of T905 saw even more changes Many a heart skipped a beat as they anticipated the passing of the stiff formal clothing of their era thrust upon them This faint flutter nearly turned into a good old fashioned heart attack as two decades later their daughters became the mad flappers of the roarin twenties this gal who shingled her hair and raised her hemllne as she and her racoon coated escort lacked their heels to the catchy rhythm of the Charleston Dim days of the depression helped to quiet the younger gener ation during the thirties the gals lowered their hemlines and music for dancing became smooth and sentimental but not for Iona The forties ushered in the bobble soxer who again lifted her hemlune and gave to us her dirty saddle shoes and sloppy- Joe sweaters. Juke boxes throughout the land gave out with boogie-woogie as these young iitterbugs cut every rug in sight. Its hard for us to realize that our own days of be bop pegged pants and cool cat customs will soon pass away But in a few years we will glance at the dusty mirror of Time and view with horror the Italian and DA halrcuts seen in our halls today Foint echoes of that quaint saying we had about crazy mixed up lads will echo through memorys cobwebs as we take a nostalgic look at ourselves gaily whirling upon that mod merry go round f youth s yesterday Our era too must flow into Times river of pass ing events to be carried away by the swift current of Yesteryear Ceaselessly the course of Times river rolls on No sooner is a thing brought into sight than it is swept by and yet another takes its place only to be swept into the shoreless sea of Eternity So too The tides go out the tides come flooding in Till the old years die and the new begin- But youth- Somewhere we lost each other last year or Yesterday.
