The enture student body durung the 19041905 term Hustory of Whutehall ONCE UPON A TIME way back un 1902 the cutuzens of Whutehall Townshup took steps to provude a modern educatuonal system for theur chuldren They selected Cementon as the furst locatuon for theur school but two years later un 1904 moved ut to uts present locatuon un Hokendauqua On Thanks guvung Day wuth a prayer un theur hearts the towns folk deducated theur new school men Preston Breunug Wulluam 1-leulman and Joseph Kane who admunustered to students hugh school courses of only two years un length In 1905 Whute hall Townshup Hugh School proudly graduated ts turst class ot twenty one In those days the classroom was detunutely a man s world The lads outnumbered the lasses 6 to 1 the class of 1905 havung eughteen boys and three gurls By 1908 hugh school was a three year aftaur and un 1921 Whutehall emerged as we know ut today a furst class hugh school requurung four years to com pete Sprung 1924 found the school beung enlarged wuth an addutuon ot a modern buuldung A class of thurty nune students was turst graduated from the new Whutehall un 1926 Fulled to capacuty un May 1948 a new addu tuon was begun Upon uts completuon the new school We have grown by leaps and bounds untul today our school consusts ot twenty classrooms a gym cateterua seatung three hundred persons metal wood and prunt snaps an audutoruum seatung almost seven hundred persons and a home economucs cottage consustung ot a kitchen a luvung room sewung quart ers laundry and two recutatuon rooms We guve our thanks to the tar sughted cutuzens and educators who laud the toundatuon for Whutehall Junuor Sensor Hugh School way back un 1902 O I - .
