VOLUME XXVW I'H'4'7 4 in 5 l 1 , P' ' I I 1' I Gur Alma Mater The youth that from his mother's home goes forth to Whitehall high, Can ne'er be said to wildly roam, or fade in clouds well nigh, So let us now the truth bestow, and here our altars raise, And our dear Alma Mater praise, our Alma Mater praise. When poverty ensnares' the home, poor girls will sob and weep, Or, if their strength won't let them come, they'll soon in silence sleep, And, so, with love and sacrifice, to her let's altars raise, And our dear Alma Mater praise, our Alma Mater praise. Her graduates are strong and firm, and build both hearth and home, Her sons and daughters will each term back to her altars roam, And there will bend and bow and pray, until a shrine they raise, And their dear Alma Mater praise, their Alma Mater praise. -I-Ieilman CTune: Drink To Me Only With Thine Eyes J ,s i Foreword . Board of Educaiion The backbone of our American Way of life is the citizen, who, because of an appreciation and understanding of current social life, takes an effective part in running a democratic society. Our Board of Education has set a truly fine example for us, the new generation of American citizens, toward the realization of civic responsibility. Ours is a sincere appreciation of the time they gave unstintingly to the legal and financial administration of the schools of our township. For their faith in the American way of life as evidenced in their assuming the responsibility of the success of our educational system, We are indeed grateful. I We, the class of l947, salute them. Its purpose is to form a well-trained staff, capable of assisting every teacher in the school to make greater use ot projected teaching aids. Although the club is still in its infancy, the members have been given training in sharing responsibilities in properly caring for equipment and materials, and in the proper operation of the projectors. To accomplish the purpose ot this club will require a great amount of experience, which, of course, will require much time and practice in using the projectors. However, within another year, the members expect to be able to use the equipment efficiently, so they can give their services to those teachers who may request them. We, the senior members of the club, hope that the other members will achieve the purpose that we had hoped to accomplish during the past year. OFFICERS President ........ When We Were Seniors GIRL- SHY Handsome Tom Arsdale and his lady-killer roommate, Oke, are on the verge of graduation from college. Tom has a terrific reputation as a woman- hater. He wishes he could stop being girl-shy, and meet nice girls like - well, take Babs Sanford! His roommate, Oke, is a tremendous contrast to Tom. Oke loves girls. l-le adores them. And he's faithful to two and three at a time. Thinking that Tom has a hate on women, Babs Sanford decides she'll do something about it. She manages to change places with the girl who cleans up Tom's and Oke's room. This should give her a chance to work on girl-shy Tom -- and it certainly does. The impression Babs makes on Tom when he first sees her is about as unnoticeable as two planets crashing in mid-air, Then, just as something beautiful starts to develop between Tom and Babs, in comes Tom's father with a girl from home. Tom's father thinks the girl from home is just the girl for Tom. Babs is put on the spot when the girl she changed places with returns. The mix-up grows, and poor Tom wishes he could just evaporate out of it all. But the audience is glad he can't. ,. ,, ,, , , When We Were luniors BEST FOOT FORWARD The boys at Winsocki Prep are making frenzied preparations to receive the girls who are coming up for the big annual dance. in the midst of the crackling lines and humorous discussion of dates comes Bud Hooper, who is plenty gloomy. His roommates finally find out the troulole. A month ago when they went to see a movie starring Gale Ioy -W the Wham girl - the trouble started. Bud got carried away and he wrote the movie star, asking her to come to the prom. And she accepts! tThey don't know how she needs a publicity breakll Bud has hastily written his regular date, Helen, that he has had an attack of the grippe and he expects to have it until after the dance. But, so that the faculty won't get angry, Bud tries to take the publicity-needing Gale loy to the dance as his girl Helen -- and then Helen arrives! Bud gets deeper and deeper into trouble, and the final haDtDY solution that saves Bud from being expelled makes this the finest youthful comedy. ?
