Here, brother vied with brother, here sister vied with sister, in the intellectual offerings of the school, sufficient in value to build that halo it is the human's desire to possess. Here they lived, but, of course, chose not to love: here they played their games, but, of course, remained almost strangers: here they started for home, day after day, ofttimes by parallel roads, but, of course, every boy would lead some girl by a distance of at least one hundred yards. Bashful students they! They knew not to co-operate, much less to associate. I-low bright they are growing! They say, Good morning! and Excuse me! so brilliantly fashionable that I know they know and they know that I know that they know and they know that I know that they know that others know that they know that I know.
