It actually dates back to Pre-Civil War days when it was only a two room school building known as Albert Pike High School. In 1897 it was considered one of the larg- est of the Shelby County schools, hav- ing an enrollment of eighty pupils. The name was finally changed to White Station in honor of Mr. Eppy White, donor of the land where a new brick school building was erected short- ly after World War I. During this time, 1920, White Station was a one room building with coal oil lamps. Food was offered to the Student body in 1923 by the PTA for only Sc-soup and crack- ers. A new building was constructed in 1957, climaxing the period of growth which began during Pre-Civil War days.
