With fondness we wish to dedicate the 1961 SHIELD to you. a teacher at White Station High School. Certainly, we would be sued for libel if we fail to clarify what we mean bv just a teacher. for you are much more than that to us. you are a teacher plus — plus enthusiasm, understanding, and love. Much of vour enthusiasm is channeled through school spirit. Many of us recall the time vour American History class was conveiled to a Spartan Crusade for sportsmanship and spirit. Your interest does not terminate with the football season, however. You are concerned with us as individuals — some- times as happy-go-lucky kids and other times as distressed young people. Your silent but keen observations make you a natural confidant of those who seek vour advice. Many of us are convinced that your innate detection of problems and troubled personalities surpasses even radar. All enthusiasm and interest stem from your love of people. Embedded deep is the root of love which buds in the fall with the freshmen and flowers in the spring with the seniors.
