HOLDING DOWN TWO Ride ’em, Scottie- Scott Lynch shows the new country look during Western Days at the local Safeway JOBS Many White River students are more than just that- they have part time jobs too. On any given day. you can see students pumping gas. bagging groceries, flipping trench fries, bussing tables, or a hundred and one different things after school. There are many advantages to working. It's a great way to be independent, and who doesn't like money? If college is in your plans, it's a way to get a head start on tuition costs. Even if it's not, money in the bank is always nice. If you’re not into saving, having a job can get you new clothes, or- a major reason students work- a car. On the other hand, there are disadvantages, too. Often, students can't make it to school activities, especially night games and dances. It's also hard to take your best girl (or guy) out when you work late every Friday and Saturday night. Sometimes, homework suffers, too. Occasionally, Trig or Civics just has to give way to the boss and his her demands. Basically, most students can juggle their two lives. After all, it's all up to you and your wallet. (Below) Way to go. Karen- Junior Karen Schmitz proves it really is possible to bag groceries and look at the same time.
