Junior Dennis Smith finishes his lunch at the Pep Assembly How's the chocolate pudding today. Smith? Gee. Danny, do you think you could teach me? Danny Patton demonstrates his drum ability white Junior Troy Jensen looks on Eliott Lawrence and Jett Pratt are in the background When you think about stepping into a new year, what's one of the first things that comes to mind? The first assembly, of course! Assemblies are an important part of school life; they give us all a chance to be together in one place. As always, the first assembly was a hit, especially because of the ASB spoof of Pee Wee Herman. Who could forget Jackie Joswick and her Powder Puff? The ASB and everyone else set up many exciting assembly this year, and they only seemed to get better. No matter what you thought of the subject matter, you may have appreciated the assemblies because you got out of class. Well, that's all right, too. This year’s assemblies helped promote school spirit. In fact, spirit was at its highest peak in a long time this year. Maybe it was the new league, maybe it was the improvements, maybe it was just time for a change, but whatever it was, it was great, Thanks to you. Right now, you might be saying Who, me? Yes. you! You were there at the pep rallies, the games, the club meetings, and in class. You made the difference in morale this year, so take the credit-you deserve it. 7

Seniors Andrea Jones. Julie Stenlund. and Danielle Reed socialize on the first day of school. Danielle protested having her picture taken, but the photographer won out. Tina Pries and Cory Waldo enjoy a romantic stroll around the parking lot. It's too bad it was interupted by the garbage they had to step over Friends are the people we remember long after our school days are over. The friendships formed in high school are often maintained throughout our lives. Your best friends are the ones you confided problems in, ate lunch with every day, walked to class with, and, sometimes, got into trouble with. Keep those memories because they will last forever. High school isn't just classes, homework, teachers, and getting ready for life. It's social, too. We saw friends together at every football game, in the parking lot, at lockers, and just about everywhere else we looked. (At the dances, we saw friendships of a different kind!) It's an important part of school life. Well hello there. Mr. Knight! says Shannon Lewis as she tries to explain why she’s eating an apple instead of sitting in class. So, as you look through your yearbook, think back on the time you spent with the people you care about. Go ahead and be sentimental and maybe even mushy. Afterwards, take a pal to lunch! 9
