Kelly Whitmore, senior, waits for the joke as fellow seniors react around her This picture was taken at the second pep rally of the year, before our first home game Trevor Desmul meets Enumclaw face to face Senior Desmul's fears became reality when his team lost to our rivals. Once the routine had become familiar again, it really wasn't so bad being back. Sure, you had to get up in the mornings, but you spent a lot more time with your friends. The first day was tough, though, as teacher after teacher rattled off rules until you knew what they were going to say before they did. Some teachers had moved, so even seniors found themselves lost. Freshmen were a lost cause, but most of them caught on. (Those who didn't will be found eventually). If you were a senior, graduation became a reality. Now. you could skip and almost get away with it. because you were a SENIOR Nobody was older than you were anymore. What a feeling, right? Some of you started counting days to graduation already. Freshmen relaxed slightly as they realized there weren't Marines around every corner waiting to eat them for lunch. Some even discovered upperclassmen are people, not dragons. The sophomores kicked up their heels as they realized they weren't freshmen anymore. A few tried to get the freshmen, forgetting they were in their place a mere three months before. The juniors relished being upperclassmen-one more year, and they'd be seniors. Hey. can handle bemg back. , you said to your best buddies at lunch as you ate junk food from the machines. The worst part is having a lousy six minutes between classes. Well, that's true, but the exercise was good for you. believe it or not. As you sat there, you saw the crowd in the parking lot being rowdy, and you heard all the conversations and gossip flow around you. and you realized what high school was all about. Eventually, your teachers started giving you assignments, the first football game at Enumclaw was Friday the 13. and. sure enough, we lost, club meetings started, and you knew there was no turning back. School was back to stay 5

Junior Dennis Smith finishes his lunch at the Pep Assembly How's the chocolate pudding today. Smith? Gee. Danny, do you think you could teach me? Danny Patton demonstrates his drum ability white Junior Troy Jensen looks on Eliott Lawrence and Jett Pratt are in the background When you think about stepping into a new year, what's one of the first things that comes to mind? The first assembly, of course! Assemblies are an important part of school life; they give us all a chance to be together in one place. As always, the first assembly was a hit, especially because of the ASB spoof of Pee Wee Herman. Who could forget Jackie Joswick and her Powder Puff? The ASB and everyone else set up many exciting assembly this year, and they only seemed to get better. No matter what you thought of the subject matter, you may have appreciated the assemblies because you got out of class. Well, that's all right, too. This year’s assemblies helped promote school spirit. In fact, spirit was at its highest peak in a long time this year. Maybe it was the new league, maybe it was the improvements, maybe it was just time for a change, but whatever it was, it was great, Thanks to you. Right now, you might be saying Who, me? Yes. you! You were there at the pep rallies, the games, the club meetings, and in class. You made the difference in morale this year, so take the credit-you deserve it. 7
