When choir members look back on this year they will always remember the month of May, because for many it represented the culmina- tion of many long hours of ehearsal. fund rais- ing projects and fun. Within two days of each other, the choir hosted the Nisqually league Choral Festival and attended the National Choir Festival in Seattle. The Nisqually League Festival was a first and all the schools that attended were im- pressed by our choir and our school. Students raised $4,000 to attend the National Choir Festival in Seattle. Both choirs performed and received high scores. Choirs performed at sev- eral school concerts, and Select Choir per- formed at many civic organizations through- out the year. Dave Brooks and Mike Merrin were chosen for All-State Choir, several stu- dents were chosen for Music in May, and sev- eral others were chosen for “Who’s who in Music.” This year’s Select Choir and Concert Choir will be remembered by Miss Purcell as her “Huskies Football Team”-the one that was supposed to be “the training choir in the 'building year.” that turned out to be a better choir than ever before! 27
