FFA in Judging Contests, Fairs During the past year the F.F.A. has been engaged in numerous activities. In June of last year several members earning the highest points spent a week in Canada fishing and camping. Later in June Dan Coyne and Randy Jacobs attended the State Convention in Pullman. During the remainder of the summer the members of the F.F.A. attended numerous judging contests where they challenged their skills in animal husbandry against those of other students around the state. The F.F.A. attended several of the county fairs where members exhibited their prize winning cattle, poultry and swine. A new addition to the fair was a portable greenhouse, built in the Ag shop and stocked with plants from Horticul- ture class. In October several members along with Mr. Kirk attended the Portland International Livestock Exibition, where the dairy judging team placed 1st in Brown Swiss Class and 9th over-all. Dave Magstad and Marty Ochsner both placed in the Showmanship contest. F.F.A. OFFICERS: SEATED: District Reporter Dennis Gray, President Mike Pettitt. Snow Conditions Favor Skiers SKI CLUB OFFICERS: Vice President Greg Kosko, Reporter Steve Anderson, Secretary Mark K lung land. Catching the bus for Crystal Mountain on Saturdays, Ski Club members enjoyed their winter sport under the spirited leadership of Adviser Wendell Kirk. Frigid temperatures failed to discourage them even when the thermometer dropped to a rec- ord 56 degrees below zero (86 below if you consider the chill factor.) A few members of the club gate-watched for the Junior National Downhill Qualifying Test held at Crystal Mountain. After some money-raising projects, the club made a special visit to Mission Ridge on Washington's birthday.
