Wol With returning lei termen to fill the key positions the Hornets had a good all around ball club. Returning to the Hornets lineup were Delmar Pickel. Bill Melton. Jack Hamilton, and Loren Nyberg in the outfield, Bill Johnson, Buzz Pete, and Ron Holmes in the infield. The battery was the same as last year with Dave Elison pitching and Joe Caviezel catching. There were also many ambitious Sophomores and Jun- iore to round out the team. Under Coach Krueger the White River Hornets played good ball this year. FIRST ROW: J. Smith. J. Sorensen, F. Rich- ardson. S. Waddell. R. Holmes. With only five returning lettermen. Coach b ' 11 had an inexperienced but determined track squad this spring. These five letter winners led the way in the track meets the Hornets participated in this year; Bob John- son was back this year to show the way in the shot and discus: Vein Estabrook showed his skill by running the hurdles and the high jump: Ray Catchpole and Dave Elison ran the half mile again this year and John Boyle led the way in the 220 yard dash. President. Vice-President, and Secretary-Treasurer respectively. The Seniors won the championship in volleyball, which was first on the sports agenda for the girls. Ping pong, tumbling, basketball, baseball, and occasional parties oc- cupied their time for the rest of the year and kept them very busy and entertained. The G.A.A. has had new rules and regulations added to its constitution under the helpful guidance of their faculty advisor Miss C. Agnew.
