 Scholastic Cea I CVS DAVID JONES Valedictorian RICHARD ALLEN Salutatorian DAVID JONES, valedictorian, graduated from Carbonado Grade School in 1951 and entered White River High School as a freshman. He led his class as president in his sophomore year, was vice-president of the student body in his junior year and president of the Honor Society in his senior year. David played J.V. basketball his junior year and first string varsity his senior year. Turning out for football in his senior year he won a letter. Scholastically, Dave has maintained a grade point average of 3.6 during his four years at Buckley. RICHARD ALLEN, salutatorian. who entered White River High in his sophomore year, has participated in school and class activities as much as his full time job has allowed him. With his high scholastic ability and deter- mination. Dick has not only obtained an education but has surpassed the standards of ordinary achievement. In spite of being self-supporting Dick has shared top honors with other class leaders, and has been selected as class salutatorian. which shows that real determination can overcome most obstacles. BETTY OLESRUD. this year’s Student Body President, was selected as Faculty Speaker for Commencement. During Betty’s career as Student Body President, she promoted the first West Central Student Council Conference, which was held at Buckley. She also was instrumental in drawing up the Standards of Behavior, which were adopted by the student body. Member- ship in the Honor Society for four years and Hornet Editor round out her list of activities. DAVID ORRISS, class speaker, was chosen by the senior class to be the class speaker at Commencement. David, who is president of the Lettermen s Club, has been active in football, basketball, track and tennis during his last two years of school. This year he was awarded the Inspirational Trophy and Best Blocker and Tackier Award. RICHARD ALBRIGHT, president of the senior class for two consecutive years, has done an excellent job in leading the class of '55 to several out- standing achievements. Dick, who has participated each year in football and baseball, has won a letter in these sports each of his four, years, thus being eligible for the Lettermen s Club. During his four years his activities have included Student Council. Annual Sports Editor. Hornet Sports Editor and Boys’ Ensemble.
