emors Poised for w areers It seems like yesterday when our parents brought us to school and introduced us to our first grade teachers. Now here it is 1951 and we are entering our freshman year at White River. Class officers were: President. John Myers: Vice-President. Joe Dicringcr; Secretary. Joy Bagnall: Representative. Paul Huhtala: and Mr. Litvincko. class advisor. Marilyn Chalberg and Joyce Borter led us in junior high yells. In our second year as sophomores we began to feel more at home at White River, now being members of the senior high. The class was led by President. Dave Jones: Vice-President. Ted Gonzales: Secretary. Joy Bagnall: Representative. Betty Olesrud: aided by Mr. Snell, class advisor. The big event of the year for us was the sophomore dance. With Yvonne Anderson as chairman we chose Hornet Hop as the theme. Kaye Hreha was secretary to the G.A.A.: Bill Gallion and Ted Gonzales were our participants in sports. Our junior year was a big year for us. Officers were: President. Dick Albright: Vice-President. Joe Dieringcr: Secretary. Joy Bagnall: Representative. Paul Huhtala. and Advisor. Mr. Saell. Phyllis Grab was Vice-President of the Girls' Club. Janice Poutt. Representative. Dave Jones was Vice-President of the Student Body. Yvonne Anderson was Secretary. Bill Gallion was Boys' Club Presi- dent. Karen BaiTiton was Vice-President of G.A.A. D. ALBRIGHT and L. BAZZAR President and Vice-President In sports the juniors placed three men on the starting eleven in football with Rich Morgan. Ike Bazzar. and Prank Gonzales on the starting five in basketball. Bill Gallion went to state for track. Marilyn Chalberg and Joyce Borter were senior high yell leaders. Nancy Myers and Phyllis Grab were co-chairmen of the Junior Prom. Gay Paree. which was the highlight of our junior year. Firmly established in White River, we bring to a close our junior year, anxiously anticipating next year. At last wc have reached our destination. Not long ago as freshmen, we looked up at all the seniors, but now. finally on top. they look up to us. Mr. Snell is back as our class advisor. Dick Albright was elected to be our class president again: Ike Bazzar. vice-president, and Joy Bagnall is serving her last year as secretary. Jeanette Trulliager was class representative. Phyllis Grab was elected to the office of Girls' Club President. Betty Olesrud can never be forgotten, as she became the first girl to be elected Student Body President in 22 years at White River. Janice Poutt was elected Secretary of the Student Body: Gail Gentala was elected class representative of the Girls’ Club: Dave Jones held the office of Honor Society President. Homecoming was an important event of the year when the judges crowned Yvonne Anderson as Queen and Dick Albright as King. Joyce Borter was Princess and Frank Gonzales. Prince. Dave Orriss received the Inspirational Award and Block and Tackle Award at the annual football banquet sponsored by the Kiwanis. He also was president of the Lettermen's Club. Joyce Borter and Marilyn Chalberg were elected yell leaders. Sportswise. the seniors placed Bazzar. Morgan. Jones. Orriss. Ted and Frank Gonzales on the first ten in basketball. In football eight seniors made their letter. Baseball and track were also dominated by seniors. The Annual Staff put their trust in Yvonne Anderson when they chose her as editor of the annual. Highlight of the year, besides graduation, was the senior ball, with April Showers as the theme. Committees, under the direction of Co-chairmen Janice Poutt and Ike Bazzar. did an excellent job of making the dance a success. Mr. £ ncll. our advisor, did an excellent job fixing various props to accommodate the theme. Most of us will remember the trip the whole senior class took to Tacoma when our pictures were taken. My gosh! Where did the time go? It seems that we just started and now we are ready to go into the world on our own. but neverthe- less we had a good time all four years. Our senior year is one never to be lorgottcn. Remember the trip to Tacoma for our pictures, order- ing our calling cards, announcements and our robes? School really wasn i so bad was it? We had our ups and downs, and all in all we enjoyed every bit of it. But where did the time all go?
