TOM ARGO SHIRLEY NIELSON JOANNE ARSANTO DAVE WHITMORE President Vice President Secretary Representative erm www, Through our past four years of school, we, the senior class of I948, have been waiting for this last year, but now that it has arrived we cannot seem to realize that we are fin- ished with our high school days. To some of us it is our last year of school, but many of us plan to go on to college and learn all we can while we have the chance. At the beginning of our freshman year, our graduation day seemed far off and we only dreamed of the day we would be through school and on our own. lt was during that year that most of us really began to settle down and study harder. By the start of our Sophomore year we had forty-four members in our class, each one doing his part in the school affairs. Our president was Clifford Jones, who was pop- ular in sports and also as a student. John ,Miller was our vice-president, Tom Argo our secretary, and Sonia Zderich our representative to the student council. Many of our members were on the l-lonor Society and participated in other school activities. We gave our first dance this year and also our first assembly, both of which were big successes. When we became Juniors, we felt we were really getting places in school life. From our class came some of the most active members of the Honor Society, boys sports, girls' sports, glee club, and F.F.A. As president of our class John Miller did a fine job and with the rest of the class officers-vice-president, Shirley Pochg secretary, Leoda Callion, and representative, Arlo Hendrickson, it was heading for the top. This year the Senior class has forty-eight members and under the direction of Mr. Jean, who has been our advisor for the past three years, we have been quite successful in everything we do. Working with Mr. Jean, our president, Tom Argo, our vice-president, Shirley Nielson, and our secretary, Joanne Arsanto, all have helped to make our senior year a good year. From the Senior class of forty-eight, one member has been very outstanding. That member is John Doherty, who is state president of the F.F.A. and the first Buckley High boy to receive that honor. ln sports, John Miller has been very popular during our high school days and this year he received the inspirational award given for outstanding play in football. Also from our class this year, we have nine members who belong to Torch Honor which is part of the honor society and whose members have been on the honor roll for three years. Now, at last, we have reached our goal. Some of us regret that we n.,ist leave school and wish we were coming back, but most of us feel we are finished with high school and are now able to take care of ourselves: for this we are glad. Our lives now lie ahead of us and in school and in life we have learned to look to the future and prepare for it.
