SENIOR CLASS MR OSBORN Adv1 or IUNE RODIA IRMA REEDER President Secretary A , CHRONOLOGY BILL HUTTEBMAN HARQLD AMBAUhN Vice Presldent Representative SIC TRANSIT GLORIA As the towering mayestic monarch of the forest develops from the tiny seedling so we in the long progression of our school years have lifted our heads to the horizons and the future beyond ln l944 seventy neophytes to the world of higher learning bent on securrng the most out of school from the educational standpoint congregated to form the nucleus or our Freshman Class During this year many of us participated in various activrttes both academic and athletic including the Buck lonlan Annual Staff Glee Club Band Stage and Pro1ect1on Crew and Football Bob Demko was the only member of the starting eleven As Sophomores we placed twenty one of the more rntellectual members of our class on the Honor Soctety Many others participated in various activities which were offered to our enterprising trnguished himself by w1nn1ng a guard position on the second string All Conference team Among our parklrng successes of this year were our colorful Sophomore Assembly and the annual Sophomore Hop With the advent of our Iunror year our talent became even more drversrfted and encompassed an ever expanding range of activities as we became eltgible for a greater number of functions The more outstand1ng activities rncluded Bucklonian Annual Honor Soclety Quill and Scroll Library Staff Stage and Prolection Crew Drama Club Band One Act Plays All School Play Glee Club and other choral groups We also were well represented in the sport mg field since Bob Demko DICK Twardoski Norman Smtth and Dale Krueger were f1rst stringers rn football with George Sweeney B1charclStreepy and Wlllldm Iamerson on the reserve squad Bob Demko Brchard Streepy and Dale Krueger upheld the tra dttion of our class by holding posttlons on the basketball squad Bob Demko due to hts brilliant offensive and defensive play was rewarded with a position on the All Conference first team as a guard and awarded the lnspxrational Trophy by his team mates Both the luntor Assembly and the Iunior Prom were well received by the students and the faculty Frnally at long last we have reached the ptnacle of success SENIOBSI Regretfully we lost twenty five of our initial seventy members including Mart anne Schltchtmg Corwin True and George Sweeney who were very active in class actrvities until their departure at the end of our Iunior year The best wishes and hopes for future success are extended to all of our former members by the Class o 47 Our Senior year climax of twelve years of struggle and effort under the able guidance of Mr Osborn our advisor saw a conttnuation of the activity pat tern established 1n previous years Not a smgle acttvrty in school was without strong Senior support Athletics plays clubs and assembl1es bloomed and Displaying great prowess on the gridiron in all departments Captain Bob Demko agam was placed on the All Conference first team and Dale Krueger was also honored wrth a half back positron on the second team Our great class was ably represented by a number of stalwart figures in basketball rn cluding Bob Demko Richard Streepy and Dale Krueger Other sports throughout the remainder of the year felt the strong influence and steadying hands of our supurb senior sportsmen Finally to our symbolic tree whrch having reached to the blue skies and borne luxurrant and opulent foliage we added the crownlng touch the zenith the epitome if we may our Senior Ball and our ever traditional Semor Prcnrc And now in brmgmg to a close this chapter in our lives and that of long to be remembered Buck ley High School we feel that it IS fitting that we pause briefly in passing to extend our thanks to our class officers symbols of the Democratic way who have worked unselfishly in the interests of one and all It is done now and the turning of the long road is at hand Glad sorry happy somber gay we look at what we have built and frnd it good As we leave to face the future we murmu Thus passeth glory , tif F 4 'I , A ' Y 3 - 4 S - , , , , I . . . 4 .
