Senior Class Prophecy The Senior Class of 1961 is having their twentieth reunion on Mars. In the year 1981, it has become a very popular resort place. On the way to the hotel, we saw a huge bill- board advertising Larry Martin's Charm School Look Tall - Think Tall - Be Tall! As we walk on down the street, we meet up with some of the class whom we haven t seen in years. Guess who-Janie Barnwell, Patsy Ashley, and Phyllis Whiteside. They are running the shoe-shine concession at the Starlight Inn, so they can support their large families. While we were talking over old times, up walks Faye Snider and Nannie Mae Coleman. Faye is now the most noted ballet dancer of the underground. Nannie Mae has won fame as the only skin-diver who can sink to the bottom of the ocean without diving. Don King rushed up to tell us that he has finally accomplished a project he has been work- ing on for ten years. He has finally gotten whitetail deer established on the planets. You would never believe it, but Linda Doss and Mary Cobb are now living together and running the biggest hand-made rug store in PinHook. They are trying desperately to save enough money to get out of that hollow. As we looked down Fifteenth Avenue, we saw that the new hit movie Sundown in Choccolocco was playing. The featured players were Marshall Bums, Billy Cheatwood, Lamar Harbin, and Edgar Hubbard. Charlene Hudgins is the new director of the Wildcats' Band in Possum Trot; Rachel Parker has a beauty shop located beside the school. She specializes in all the newest shades in hair coloring, and the latest thing in non-wavy permanents. Gene Owen is the most popular dentist on Mars, and although his prices are out- rageous, it takes every cent he makes to keep his wife and seven kids in the latest model rockets. Kenneth King is the head accountant for a big rice plantation. He tells us he often visits Edgar'Jones. who is now teaching history in the Martian Academy. He took Mr. W. E. Truitt’s place on the first Monday after the first Tuesday in the even numbered year. Norma Whatley and Dot Brown are running a nursery for working mothers. Their husbands wouldn't leave their jobs on Earth, so they left them behind. The first place an art lover visits on Mars is the shop run by Myra Pollard, Joyce Brown and Charlotte Poland on Twenty-Ninth and Milky Way Boulevard. They draw anything from Cat tails to bull's eyes. The last ones to arrive (of course) were Jerry Brown, Gerald Whiteside, and Skippy Hicks. You remember they were always late for class. Now they are cutting corn stalks and often speak of the good old days at White Plains High.
