Class Prophecy It is customary for the class prophet to consult someone who can unveil the future and foretel I the destiny of each member of the Senior Class . Being duly elected to the signal honor of prophet of the Class of 1956, I shall not deviate from the old custom. Dropping unexpectedly into the establishment of the Great Swami Whodunit, I asked him to help me. He agreed to do his best and vye were off. First to appear in the crystal ball was the name of the territory; Mount Airy! A sign, Brintle, Attorney-at-Law caught my eye as it swung from a building. On entering, I found Thomas Brintle, as a pompous and dignified lawyer with none other than our classmate, Gladys Hicks as his efficient secretary. Then came Rodney Woodring, who is pursuing women, no less! Rodney has a job as life guard at Myrtle Beach, and spends the time rescuing helpless females. Wonder if Rodney can swim? It looks as if there is a woman in distress now I Who is that chasing that Powers Model, Sybil S. Inman? Why, its the woman lover, J. Glen Nichols. Oh, J. Glen tripped over a rock! I suppose its well that he did, for Taylor is close behind! J. Glen is going to the first-aid station. There's the head nurse of the clinic, Faye Brintle. Man, she can really bandage those cut and bruises! The scene now changes to a fine night club in New York. Just look who manages this joint. . .Lonnie Draughn and Grady Coe; co-owners of Hernandoes Hideaway. The feature attraction is that Italian song-bird, Diasy Peele. Dixie Schmidt is also employed there, but this is her night off! Looking over the table down front, I noticed Rex Atkins. Rex is now manager of State's basketball team, and he boasts Bevo Francis as his star player. The crystal ball now takes us to Detroit, where David Cassell and Donald Marshall are employed by General Motors. David is a test driver . He should tear them up if anybody can I Bill Stewart has just found his new job! This is the fifth one since graduation. Oh well, Bill never seemed to make up hismind about a lot of things. He's now the foreman at Hanes Hosiery Mill. Surely everybody didn't leave home I No, the scene now changes to dear ole' White Plains. What’s this new buildingon the square? Why, it's a restaurant, and Eugene Simmons is owner. Of course, he can't operate such a large place of business by himself. He has employed Erline King as head waitress. Here are some of Eugene's best customers: Wade Venable and Herbert Badgett. Some day they hope to find a single woman around here! Santa has left their stockings empty for ten years straight. It doesn't seem fair. P. C. Smith and June Badgett have been married so long they've forgotten what its like to be single. That only leaves two on the list; Jesquer Atkins and Gilbert Huffman. Jesquer is enjoy¬ ing her role in life as a h o u s e w i f e and mother, while Gilbert is studying under Frankie Dolittle, who hopes someday to show him the formulas for making triangles congruent. But then, thinking that was all, I saw a girl... Why, it was me! I'm now Society Editor of the White Plains Gazette. Thanking the Swami, who was beginning to have a headache from overwork, I left to do my work of writing this magnificient piece of journalism.
