For many years White Plains High has had Classes for the gifted. at the same time as there is thought- ful provision for the slow learner. Ur. l,ong's work requires the eo-opera- tion of the entire high sehool stall. ol eourse. Ul very direet help to him is Nlr. tlerald lvers. assistant prineipal. who is responsihle among other duties' -lor ar- ranging transportation ol students hy hus, lor supervising diseipline. and for direet- ing the preparation of the hudget and teaehers' and students' sehedules. The poliey-making lwody of the sehool is the Currieulum Committee. whit-h meets every Tuesday afternoon. This eommittee is headed hy Dr. Long. Assisting him are Nlr. lvers. the departmental ehairmen. and other administrative assistants. llr. lfarl l . llolvaeker and Nlr. Kenneth Hadermann. ehairmen of the departments of lfnglish and eitizenship edueation. re- speetively. present the viexss ol' the many tea:-hers under their supervision. Ur. lto- lvaeker serves also as direetor of press relations for our sehool and is the liaeulty ehairman ol the Puhlie Relations Count-il. a group of eitizens meeting monthly lo diseuss edueational matters ol' interest lo them and to the sehool.
