Day in, day out these BTS operate and maintain the boilers supplying steam for the ship's use. It is this steam which provides the power to move the ship 5 make electricity and heat water for wash- ing clothes, cookin if at the end of the working day. g, and taking a shower The B Division men will proudly tell you that the WHITE PLAINS is the first Navy ship to use an electronic computer for boiler control-but this doesn't mean -If that these men loaf.
