The interweaving of different colors form a design of pattem. A person must accept thc dark colors as well as the bright colors. Back- ground, the source of the thread, gives depth as well as unity. Blending the colors of expe- riencc makes a design of the person you want to be. 1,5 Q t 55: flesh A My knowledge of the single inter- woven thread add to the' beauty of the tapestryg just as noticing the simple things gives more meaning to my lifeg just as noticing a friendly gesture adds to the happiness of my day. It takes courage to try and understand something confusing. Take time to stand back - look at the person your becoming, don't let the actions of the living blind you from seeing life. Principals Message TO THE CLASS OF 1974 - The importance of an individual and all individuals is being emphasized more and more. To point this out at WPHS we have suessed the importance of career education for individual stu- dents, of on-the-job training for individual students, of independent study for individuals, of indi- vidual counseling and guidance from counselors and instructors, and the individualized structure of each student's daily schedule points this out. These are matters not to be taken lightly since an individual's opportunity can be forfeited thru neglect and, more often, thru wanting to do what another student is doing whether or not it fits or suits an individual st-udent's needs. Important to individualism is that it takes courage to know oneself and to make individual plans that reach farther into the future than right now, the present. The Class of 1974 meets abruptly with this future. Graduation points this out. It is my hope that you have become individualistic and planned for yourself. Such planning will help make your future bright, as bright as I wish it for each of you. My best wishes are extended to each of you - individuals in WPHS's largest graduating class. Sincerely, joseph Thiele Principal .,f v J . . . x.,... .- f U...--'15, . V 1 .f ' ,' f ' v 1' I . I -1 a .4 I. I . f ' , ' . J .E . a-nj v ' fiyf uf.'T' '. 1 ' ' . 1- .xx tg. Not only must one achieve creativity within the structure of academ- ics, but also from varied stimuli. By becoming a part of activities not required an individual can gain insight and appreciation otherwise over- looked. To complete a fabric of value the weaver takes time to gather the quantities of many expe- riences. In combining them, he creates a strength and unity that is the compositionfof worthwhile material. The tough White Pine defense took over and forced Manogue to punt on fourth and long yardage. In the Elko game, a running back for Elko gained more than 200 yards, and breaking White Pines back after scoring two touch downs. In the Douglas game, the out come was in doubt until the final few minutes when Douglas scored two quick touch downs. The Yerington game was a wild affair. With Yerington scoring all their points in the first four minutes of the game, on a kick off retum, a punt return, and a White Pine fumble. The next 44 minutes were the Bobcats 14-O.
