'iou are entering a world of opportunity. Never has there been such a need for honest, reliable, trained men and women. The advent of the Atomic Age and the development of automation has disclosed the fact that there are not enough trained Engineers, Technicians and Scientists to go around, and the need for trained pers onnel is growing rapidly. The opportunities existing today are unlimited hut special train- ing is almost a must. Should you decide to go in for special I training, either hy going to college, by taking an apprentice- fx ship, or 'oy accepting industrial training, l wish to point out 2 to you the fact that the responsibility for learning rests ' ,nl t squarely upon your shoulders. The opportunity to learn may 'oe gt placed within your reach, out it is you and you alone who must ' ' acquire it. Knowledge and experience cannot 'oe parsed on as a , gift. Whatever success you attain will oe entirely through your own efforts, l wish you the greatest oi success in any worthwhile endeavor you may attempt. 711 kite ' mt Conn 13 'ffl' it 5 K1 rg f no The publication of an annual provides a record of events and activities of the school year, which many of you may look hack upon, in 'later years, with nostalgia. There is little douot that when this time comes, you will renember your high school years as the happiest years of your life. There is another aspect of high school life--and cer- tainly it is most important--which cannot he recorded so easily. lt is unfortunate that the progress which each of you will make during your high school years in knowledge, in attitudes, in sell-reliance, in social awareness and many I Q' other attrioutes which are demanded hy society cannot 'oe shown. Although it is impossible that these things be recom- ed in pictorial or written form, each one of you is surely compiling such a record, Success in life may well depend up- , ' on this unwritten record which you make for y urself. fy l wish each oi' you a happy and successful year. The following weekend the boys gained a win from Las Vegas and dropped a loser to Basic. Loading into the trip bus the next weekend found the Bobcats off for a win from Gorman and a loser to Basic. On the return trip the boys took Lincoln for a thirty-point win over the Linx. The next weekend the squad took their second two-game win from the Elko Indians. Bad news followed the team to Las Vegas. How- ever, they recouped their losses with a 14-point win over Rancho. During League play the Bobcats compiled a record of eight wins and four losses. This put them in third place for Zone and tied with Basic.
