The first of the Bobcat defeats came at the hands of the Spark Railroaders, 13-T, but was avenged by a Homecoming win over the Lincoln Lynx, 19-13. The Bobcats then moved into Boulder City for their third Southern Zone Conference game. The Bobcats played good ball but lost 18-13. Rancho High of Las Vegas got in the way of the rebounding Bobcats and took a 35-6 loss. Next on the schedule was the traditional game with Elko with the Victory Bell at stake, but Elko downed the Bobcats 25-13 and retained possession of the bell for another year. This ended the season for the Bobcats with a six win-three loss record. To whom it may concern: Watch out for the Bobcats next year! Our thanks to Coaches Joe Bronson and John Sarbach for a fine job. The Bobcats opened the season on their home hardwood, with two wins over the Delta Rabbits. Taking to the road the next week the Bobcats split a series with the Elko Indians. With the transfer of White Pine to the Southern Zone the Bobcats hit the road for the Southland for two games, losing both, one to the Boulder City Eagles the other to the Basic Wolves. ' Returning home, the Bobcats revenged losses to Boulder City and Basic by trim- ming both plus four other wins: Rancho, Elko, and Gorman twice. Traveling south again they lost their next three games, two to a powerful Lincoln team and one to Las Vegas before bouncing back to defeat Rancho. In the Bobcats, last pre-tournament season game they dropped another to the Lincoln Lynx, leaving their zone record at six and five placing fifth in the Southern Zone. Moving to the Southern Zone Tournament in Las Vegas, the Bobcats drew Boulder City in the first round. In a hard-fought contest Boulder City pulled ahead in the second quarter and held their lead to drop the Bobcats 50-39. Ending the season with a ten win seven loss record, Coach Boothe is to be con- gratulated on his fine job. Next year with only four Seniors graduating and ten returning Juniors, prospects for a good season are very bright.
