Dedication Commencement ceremonies mark the beginning of a bright independent future for those leaving White Pigeon High School. Graduating seniors filled with valued memories, both pleasant and adverse, prepare to meet a world which is far more complicated and obscure than the school from which they came. The realities of life present many challenges and frustrations. Pleasure is oftentime mixed with tragedy. Such tragedy has touched us this past year with the untimely deaths of Ken Bennett and Kay Massey. While attending high school these two young people established many friends among the student body and faculty. Their unfortunate deaths have left a void in our hearts, but we can and will retain many pleasant memories. It is with this hope that the Publications Staff dedicates the 1970 WAHBEMEME to the memory of these two fallen youths who too, began with a bright spirit for the future. Kay and Kenny were both active in extra-curricular activities at White Pigeon. Ken was a photographer for the annual staff in 1968. He was a member of the 1968 football team, that went undefeated. As manager of the Low Ebb, a local rock group, Ken's help contributed to their success. Kay was a member of the National Honor Society and in her senior year she was the secretary of that organization. Kay was a writer and the Business Manager for the annual staff in 1969. Kay also graduated in the top third of the Class of '69. For those who have lost someone dear to them, whether it be on our highways or protecting our country in Viet-Nam, we share your sympathy and grief. h Memory Of.
