The captain for the second semester is Paul Rauguth. The lieutenants are Chester Mercer and Richard Cripe. The real aim of safety patrols and safety education is to assist the child in becoming n independent safe walker. This means that the boys must always be on the watch to avoid danger and guard their posts as faithfully as possible. It is our objective to provide a greater measure of safety for students while crossing streets at a- near the school. The F. H. A. has had a very successful year. The club has sponsored a skating party and a dance and part of the proceeds will help send boxes to Korea; send girls to summer camp and to the F. H. A. Cherry Pie Contest The local cherry pie contest was held in the Home Economics Room on Monday, February 4, 195 7. Eleven students entered, nine girls and two boys. The local winners vqere Sandra Barbaris-first place, Geraldine Hartman-second place, and Kenneth Cast-third place. The first two place winners entered the county contest in Three Rivers. The Hi-Y's year has been a busy one. With our annual festivities: Centreville Fair, Ann Arbor Band Day, Western Michigan Band Day, and marching at home football games. We have won two first divisions this year.
