KNDX cu. 5 UF '47 FRESHMAN CLASS In September, 19-lil, the Freshmen were assigned to Room 16. There were thirty members in the class, but owing in part to unusual times, it was reduced to twenty-seven by mid-term. VVe cannot boast of large numbers, but will endeavor to maintain the traditions of Knox lligh School through our achievements. All of us got through the initiation safely, and it really was not so hard as the Seniors built it up to be. The Seniors had a reception for us on October H, 1943, which will long be remembered by all of us. The class banner was designed by John Talbot. Its unusual de- sign makes it outstanding among all other banners. NVe are proud of the place we take in the activities of the school. Five in the elass are members ot' the band, six are in the Mixed Chorus, and six ot' our boys went out for basketball. We also have draniatie ability! Our play on December 3rd was a great sueeessl The skating party at i'larion was an occasion in our Freshman year whieh we greatly enjoyed. NVQ- might say that some ot' the spills made lasting impressions Cscarsb. The event seemed to attract mem- bers of other classes as well. Of eourse, they were cordially welcomed. It is said, Ulf you don't toot your own horn, no one will toot it for you. 18 The 1944 White Memo
