The Founclrng ol: White Memorial School The beautxful school blllldlllg known as the Whlte Memorxal School was presented to the cltlzens of knox by Mrs Fanny Whxte as a memorial to both her husband D O Whlte and son D O Whlte J The latter was a graduate In the class of 1906 and dled 1n Warren Pennsylvama at the age of twenty three years The cornerstone was lald under the 3.llSplC8S of the MRSOHIC Frater nlty of whlch both husband and son of Mrs Whlte were members The servlces were performed by D B Hemer of Klttannlng State Worthy Grand and the Rex Wlllxam HlltCh1SOH State Chaplam of the Masonic Fraternlty In the stone was placed the Blble belongmg to D O White Jr his hlgh school dlploma Masomc emblems belonging to both father and son and some hlstorlcal documents of the occaslon After the Masonic servlces an address was made by the Rev H F Earseman now pastor The buxldmg was erected under the ausplces of Mr R T Wxlson who spared no pams to make lt both well buxlt and beautlful The school was dedlcated January 10 1923 when the then state supermtendent of schools made the prmclpal address Thls was followed by an address by County Supermtendent of schools N E Heeter Mr D R Thompson accepted the school on behalf of the Board of Educatlon cxtlzens teachers and puplls of the school The school mos ed mto the new bulldlng lmmedlately after the dedxca t1on and found xt a beautlful and COI'IlITl0d1OUS place It contains large and well llghted classrooms and a large audltorlum gymnaslum capable of seatxng s1x hundred people The heatmg system IS modern and complete and the blllldlllg affords adequate houslng for our modern school system lrwlns Market C 0 Alt Jeweler 6- Optlclan MEATS Typewrlters PHONE Bk Full Lune of Groceries, Fruits and Vegetables COMPLIMENTS WE DELIVER Logue 6- Son PHONE ze KNox Shgo, Pa. , . .
