Bill Worley launched a 40 yard bomb to Steve Hachmeister who bobbled it mo- mentarily and then outraced the Lion's secondary for'the score. That terminated the scoring in the game. A . - WTW-8, WHA-7 In a closely fought grid battle at Loos Stadium, the Longhorns picked up their second win of the season by edging the Adamson Leopards, 8-7. The Leopards took the lead in the first quarter on a 5 yard touchdown pass and held it until the third quarter. As the Longhorn's held Adamson to minus yardage in the second half, the shotgun- type offense began to click. Steve Hachmeister and Bill Worley chalked up valuable yardage. Bill Worley plunged the last 3 yards setting up the decisive PAT. With 4:26 left in the fourth quarter, Frank Stroube hit john Hardwick with the two point con- version pass, and the Longhorns won, 8-7.

WTW-14, SG-1 In their last non-district game, the Horns were defeated by the South Garland Colonels, 15-145 and the game was as close as the score. The first score came as the Colonel quarterback scampered 52 yards for the 7-0 lead. The Longhorns then drove 45 yards in 14 plays with jim Worley scoring on a three yard plunge. Frank Stroube passed to john Freeman for two points, and the Horns led, 8-7. Late in the third quarter, with second down and eight yards for a first down, the South Garland halfback Robert Robertson scored on a double reverse. The two-point conversion was good. Then it was White's turn again. With four minutes left in the game, Steve Hachmeister picked up 52 of his 130 yards rushing by out-racing the Colonel's secondary for the score. The two point conversion was broken up in the end zone, and the Colonels handed White their third loss of the season.
