S., U. of Minn. its English courses at White Bear are offered EDWIN WENSMAN at two levels, modern and classical. The latter English is for the college-bound student with a B or Lafinll better average. Correct English usage and development of practical English skills are stressed in the modern English courses. American and world literature are covered. For the classical English student, eleventh grade opens up new perspectives in American literature. A. , Ohio State White Bea r offers students three branches of science: biology, chemistry, and physics. Biology students study the life processes of plants and animals. Chem-Study is a new method of lab- oratory work being applied in chemistry classes this year. It encourages individ- ualwork in the laboratory and scientific thinking. In physics students are taught the principles and laws governing the physical aspects of our environment. Another course, natural and applied science, includes the basic concepts of both chemistry and physics, with empha s i s on application rather than mathematical proof.
