octal ' The 1964 e l e c t i o n furnished all classes with interesting discussions for the first two months of the year. Unoffi- cial competition to see who could get the biggest and best campaign posters sharpened rivalry between classes as well as Democrats and Republicans. The campaign was climaxed by a mock election on October 28. All this along with the amazing interest in the new Russian and Far Eastern history courses gave the Social Science Department one of their best years. WILLIAM YOUNG World History B. A. , Hamline Gur school library is unique in the state and possibly in the nation. The advantages of such a design Were soon evident to all students, Who found everything centrally located and Well- organized. Alcoves make the shelves of books more accessible and con- ference rooms permit group research and discussion in the library Without disturbing other students. The red carpetingis not only attractive but also helps to reduce noise, another asset which makes our new library an ideal spot for research or reading. 24 DuWAYNE DEITZ DEAN BOYUM Social Problems 12 SOCIH1 Srudleg 10 B.
