C lass Prophecy One evemng when the moon was full and the stars were brxght I settled down to study my hlstory But my mmd began to wander and my eyes were fxxed on the moon As I sat there watchmg It seemed that the years rolled by and It was the year 1960 A vast Open space appeared before me and as I stu d1ed the v1ew an a1rplane came 1n for a lanchng As Iwatched Bob Ste1nh1lber chmbed out of the plane and walked wearlly toward the house As I llstened lntently I found out that after graduatlon Bob had gone west and worked as a ranch hand for a whxle but HOW he Owns h1s own ranch and a1rp1ane and was just returmng from check1ng the fences and look mg over hxs cattle Then as the scene changes I see another fam1l1ar face It s Patty Brown she has a half dozen kxds of her own now I found that Patty was marr1ed shortly after graduatxon and has been domg qu1te well She has even learned to drxve a car Agam the scene changes and I see a large factory The s1gn out through the factory lookmg around I fmd Mary Louxse Shlfley She has a Job of testmg the mattresses She sleeps on each one four hours She always d1d lxke to sleep To my amazement the scene xs changxng to what looks 11ke a Jun gle I hear a roar as a hon bounds out xnto the open a crack of a gun and then there IS sxlence I watch carefully for what IS to happen next Then I see Bxll Dlebler carefully approachmg the l1on B111 always dxd lxke to hunt and trap now he xs a blg game hunter Then agam the scene changes and everywhere I look I see chlck ens and a few cows on a nxce quiet peaceful farm It s chore txme and I see Esther G1bson feedxng the chxckens The scene fades as the moon d1sappears beh1nd a cloud and I turn back to my hlstory only to reallze I ve just had a look xnto the future ll front told me they manufactured innerspring mattresses.
