Drama Club During the first semester, the Dramatic Club presented a children’s play, “The Tinder Box”, to the student body and to several schools. Weekly work-shops were initiated during the Thursday club sessions. During these work- shops much of the crew work was completed, and people were given opportunities to learn make-up, costuming, lighting and other theatrical skills. At the beginning of the second semester, Mr. Haney became the club’s new advisor, and we bid a fond fare- well to Miss Bobp, who has ably filled this capacity for many years. Our dramatic season ended on a high note with our production for adults. “All the world’s a stage” Dramatic Club Officers; J. Wolfe, D. Gleason, President, and M. Blum. Bronk, and D. Black. Front row: J. Polhemus, C. Glass and B. Buckley. Wheelock celebrated “A New England Spring” during May Week this year. A spring breakfast welcomed everyone to the traditional festivities which included per- formances by the Glee Club, the Dramatic Club, the Dance Club, the house singing groups, and the Bonyans, folk singers who appeared at the May Assembly. Other fea- tures included the freshmen’s Shakespeare Festival and the college art display with the highlight being the crowning of our May Queen beneath the old-fashioned may pole. With this coronation and our interpretations of nature through the arts, we bade wel- come to the spring of 1963. 69
