98 Peabody East With the support and guidance of Mrs. Roberts, Peabody East has been aiming to achieve a spirit of unity within itself as well as with neighboring Peabody West. Group gatherings at tea time, house meetings and dormitory sings, together with the meaningful tra- ditions of Freshmen Welcome Week and Christmas festivities foster friendly relations. Each floor in East also has its individual goals which include pierced ears, Wheelock nightshirts, guitars, quiet seniors, and nightly bridge. With hard work and play, this year was a successful one. Longwood This September found Longwood House welcoming twenty-two freshmen. Successful “Kindlers” and several house parties at which a “Stah” was born kept the girls’ spirits high. The Tartans welcomed many new voices to the group and por- formed at Longwood’s parties. We were truly proud of them. The laughter and excitement of Christmas, Father-Daughter Week End, and the annual Strawberry Festival in May will long be re- membered. As the head of our Longwood “family”, Mrs. Potter devoted her time and understanding to our problems. Mrs. Potter a0 il EO NNT AR NI ME EY Go a 9 Longwood House Council: Back Row: D. Abitbol, B. Peabody West Peabody West has thoroughly enjoyed its second year, and we attribute much of our success to our new house mother, Mrs. Sayles. Housing 120 girls, West is best typified by floor parties, pink washers, private extensions and elevator rides. The cooperation and congeniality of the girls, however, is what West is best known for ... we hope! eee “Why doesn’t someone turn it on?” Mrs. Eleanor Norton Sayles s e a House Council: Seated: M.
