Losing Mark Graber for most of the season through a needless injury and being weak at positions 4 and 5 for depth, the Lions rallied together behind Gary Gudat and the Cochran brothers to provide the performance leadership for success; they didn’t fail us. Many individual boys came through throughout the season when the chips were down and the Job had to be Done”; Doug Bailey against Norwich Tech; Mark Graber in the QVC Meet; and Mike Robichaud in the Westerly Sun Invitational. When we had to put it together, we did. This was the Wheeler tradition speaking — the base of Wheeler X-Country.
