Your fiickle friends are Oh, but then you know It’s time for them to go, But, I will still be there I have no thought of leaving — 6 I do not count the time Who knows where the time goes. 7 Dedication To you Mrs. Sheila Williams, we dedicate our yearbook— thank you! 12 A TRUE FRIEND Some people we meet on the pathway of life We are apt to forget in awhile, And some we remember—perhaps for a deed Perhaps for a word, or a smile— And there are a few who remain in our hearts On whom we can always depend, The friends who are true all the changing years through, And you are that kind of a friend. I, Madonna Stites, leave my brothers David and Bobby hopes that their coming years will be as fulfilling as mine have been, to my parents I leave thanks for many cherished memories, to my friends and Wheeler I leave hopes that they will never forget me or the class of 73, and to Kathy I leave a package of Neccos, (and I promise I won’t eat a single one.) I, Sherrie Storey, leave to Debbie Umphlett all my hopes that she can find as much fun and happiness as I have at Wheeler, and to Colby I leave five dollars to cover any more bets. I. Sherry Vance, do hereby leave Sue a guitar man, and to Deb a book on how to rock with a jouster. I, Jarene Whiting, do hereby leave my cheering uniform to Debbie Young, my gurgling to Lynda Villanova, and my diploma to my brother Jay in case he can’t get his own. 1, Bruce Wilkinson, leave all the young ones to Henry Campo. I, Debra Williams, leave cheering, the Prom, and the yearbook to all the people who have the time, and nerves that go along with thm! I, Carl Wilms, leave my shoes to Smokey the Bear in hopes that he may stomp out more forest fires next year. I, Bonnie Yerrington, do hereby leave Wheeler in hopes that the junior class has as much fun as I did as a senior. Class Prophecy Here we are at our 1983 class reunion. Except for two things, our class really has changed. One thing is that as usual, more than half our class didn’t show up. Another thing is that we are still meeting in our same old gym. I wonder if we'll ever get a new one? To dress up the place, we decided to decorate, but since the treasury's out of money, we have put to good use our old Junior Prom decorations. We still haven't found the velvet, but the class of 74 is on our suspect list. The North Stonington Very General Hospital has just been opened and some of our class members are manning the post.” Dr. Ewalt is the head of the staff, ably assisted by Dr. Laura McCarthy, the shrink , and Dr. Diane Garland, sociologist. Their staff consists of Marie Deveau in X-ray department, Kathy Schaffer in the laboratory, and Elbe Moran who keeps the patients happy with her home-style cooking. A major breakthrough was made when Dr. Ewalt and his lab assistants discovered the cure for the common cold. In our nearby metropolis, Westerly, the Wilkinson, McCollough Law Firm (as, as Jim says, the McCollough, Wilkinson Law Firm) is thriving well with their able bodied secretaries, Susan Adams and Debbie Williams. Susan Jennerwein and Patty Geer showed up with millions of pictures of their children and make us envious of their happily married life. Suddenly, in marched our three national defenders, Sue Crofts, April Clark, and Gary Peters, and with their dashing military uniforms on, we quickly realize where Vi of our defense budget goes. RaynorR oberts strides in then, with his basketball. He is on his way to practice with the L.A. Lakers in an effort to replace Wilt” the Stilt.” April Schalit made her grand entrance surrounded by a crowd of photographers. They have been following her since her amazing performance in Harvey.” Donna Stites came winging” in a little late today looking very chic in her new stewardess uniform. Today she was late because of turbulence coming in from Hawaii. She didn't stay very long as she was due in in few minutes for her Alight to Japan. Boy, what a life! On the homefront, Bob Beattie has consolidated all the farms in North Stonington and is well known up and down the East Coast for his efforts. Jim Crider is still working for his father along with helping out Bob. He still plans to see the U.S. Keep trying Jim! There is David Westcott, I wonder how his camera Repair shop is doing? I hear he has branched out to several stores throughout the county. His shop in North Stonington is really something. Rip Anderson did the carpentry and Lance Boissevain the electrical wiring. I think I’ll call them when I build my new house. There goes Paul Buehler. I guess there is an emergency at the hospital. One of the Irish Setters he is taking care of is having puppies. That's the kind of vet to have, since he makes house calls. I hear Nancy Pollard is Head Secretary at Posi-Seal. I imagine instead of coffee breaks she takes tomato juice. Don’t work too hard now. Henry Appleton is doing really well at the handicapped clinic. He has helped quite a few kids to be able to walk again. That must be a good feeling knowing that you are contributing to the crowding of the sidewalks. Well, its midnight and the close of our class reunion for another ten years. In all honesty I’ve enjoyed seeing the class all together again, but I can't wait till the next one. It should be very interesting to see what else everybody can do to their lives that they have not already done. Till then, Bye Bye. 133 30 Index 1. Susan Adams 12. Karl Kuzenka 23. Rose Coon 2.
