Superintendent My congratulations are extended to each member of the graduating class of 1966. The passing years are sure to blur many of the sharp memories you now retain of your days at Wheeler High. It is not likely, however, that the pride and admiration you have of your classmates and alma mater will ever diminish. The bonds forged between you and your school are eternal. 'Dedication To act like a child is to be treated like one, but to be understood and have allowances made is to desire to know better. This person has understood and made allowance. If a group is divided, the division may be fatal unless each side is proven both partly right and wrong. This person proved it. If someone is wrong, he’d often rather have his own path clearly lighted than to be directed to another. This person enlightened us. When people need aid, they would sooner have assistance than advice. This person assisted us. And so, because you have shown us without credit the reasons and steps to becoming an adult and made us without insistence desire to achieve maturity, we. the Class of 1966, dedicate the Leo to you, Mr. Raymond Crosby. 2

Principal It is difficult to imagine what the world of tomorrow holds for any of us. As a probability, one can assume that time ahead, obscured for now by issues and efforts of the present, will pose all of us with challenges. A factor that will add uniqueness to the situation is that predictability of change will be so difficult in a world where knowledge is being applied with such rapidity. Maybe this has always been the case, but for each generation the approach to the future always involves newness. This is understandably so. The participators are different. Now you will take center stage. The legacies handed on to your generation have been both magnificent and small. They range from the glorious achievements of man’s best intellectual and spiritual efforts to his inability to use these very gifts for the betterment of society. The reality of man’s contribution to the present is in his history. Accept it as you will but bear it well in mind that the contribution of your generation will also be recorded.
