EDWARD FISH Eddie Helpful and friendly best describe our classmate, Eddie. He has been attending North Stonington schools for twelve years. Eddie has put his best foot forward” in helping us decorate the gym and collect card tables for the Junior Prom and Senior Ball. His favorite hobbies are swimming and wrecking transmissions. Eddie can always be seen drawing awkward figures while attending lectures, thus he has gained the title Class Artist . We all wish Eddie the best of luck and happiness in his many endeavors! KAREN GAVITT Karen Karen moved from North Stonington to Westerly, Rhode Island, in her freshman year and then returned to North Stonington and Wheeler as a senior. While a freshman at Wheeler, Karen was a member of the Sports Club. During her sophomore and junior years at Westerly, she was a member of the softball team and belonged to the Art Club. She helped greatly with our Senior Ball by putting much of her time, ability, and ideas into the planning to assure its success. To Karen go our wishes for all the happiness she desires with the hope that she will always be as amicable a person as she is now. 20

LINDA MARY CONGDON Cong Linda's lengthy list of awards and activities speaks best for her most admirable trait--an inexhaustible will to help and participate. She won the Hewitt Award for Outstanding Sportsmanship and the C. A-. W. D. C. Award. She was class treasurer as a freshman, secretary of the Student Council as a sophomore and a chorus member for three years. This year, she attended the Eastern Connecticut Music Festival. As a cheerleader for four years—junior varsity captain freshman year and varsity captain junior year—she also received an award for achievement. She is presently secretary of the National Honor Society and literary editor of the Leo ’66”. Linda's fine character, which has already received recognition, will surely award her with a full and happy life. JUNE CAROLYN FARRAR June One won't remember June without recalling the stack of mystery novels she usually carried with her to read during her spare minutes. A loyal classmate, she has served on a committee for every dance our class has sponsored, giving freely of her time and ambition. This ambition has been indeed great for she was one of the few who had enough credits to graduate even before beginning her senior year. She was also the mystery student in the magazine drive, which means she was specially awarded for the effort she had shown. June's will to learn and to work will doubtlessly continue to bring her success. 19

RICHARD WAYNE GAVITT G ue Richard is not only a valuable member of our class, but also one of the most popular. Asa member of our varsity basketball team, he received the Most Valuable Player Award for two years and was selected to be a Quinebaug Valley Conference All Star Player. This year he is captain of Wheeler's basketball team. Although he is only 5'10”, Richard has made up for his lack of height by his skill. As a junior, he was also vice-president of his class. We wish Richard the best of luck in his future years! MARY ELLEN GIACHELLO Mary Ellen” Mary Ellen spent her freshman and sophomore years at Waterford High School in Waterford, Connecticut, and then joined the Class of 1966 at Wheeler. During her junior year, she served on committees for the Junior Prom and was a member of the ’’Styletones”. This year, our class would not have had such a fine senior ball if Mary Ellen had not shouldered much of the behind-the-scenes” work and responsibility as co-chairman of the dance committee. Mary Ellen will be remembered for her sweet smile and warm, sincere friendliness. 21
