MARIE ANN BUFFUM Marie Marie, with her gay, funfilled personality, has been quite active at Wheeler. She has been a member of the girls' varsity basketball and softball teams throughout her high school years--earning a softball award as a sophomore. Her deep interest in her class has been shown in the diligent way she worked as a member of the semi-formal and junior prom committees. She was the class representative to the WHEELER1TE in her junior year. Marie has also participated in several fashion shows. All of us are sure Marie will continue to succeed in life as she has done in high school. MARILYN ALICE COATS Chub Marilyn has been a very active member of her class. She has been one of the Styletones” throughout her high school years. She showed an interest in sports by participating in girls' softball in her sophomore year. She has been a great help to her class as treasurer for three years. In her junior year Marilyn was crowned Prom Queen, and what a beautiful queen she was! She has busily taken part in the high school fashion shows and did a great deal of work this year with the magazine drive. We wish only the very best for Marilyn in her future. 18

MARCIA ALLISON BILL Marsh Marcia, who has been going to North Stonington Schools for twelve years, has shown a great interest in girls' basketball and softball. She showed such good ability in these sports that she received the award for outstanding physical education in her sophomore year. She also has been active in her class as a class officer -president as a freshman, junior, and senior and secretary as a sophomore. In her junior year, she was also cochairwoman of the Junior Prom. This year she enthusiastically participated in the magazine drive - becoming highest sales-woman. We know that Marcia will certainly succeed in life with her ambition and personality. JAMES WESLEY BRADLEY Brad Jim has shown great leadership qualities during his high-school years. This is exemplified by the good work he has done as Student Council President this year and by his achievement of the position of first runner-up in the Groton Elk's Youth Leadership Contest. He has done a commendable job as business manager of the Leo '66 Jim was also a member of the Audio-Visual Aid Club in his junior year and a member of the junior varsity basketball team in his sophomore year. He has also shown a great deal of interest in the high-school boys' physical fitness program and in the senior magazine drive. We know that Jim, who was recently chosen as his class' favorite boy, will succeed in his future - especially while attending the Lowell Technological Institute in Massachusetts. 17

LINDA MARY CONGDON Cong Linda's lengthy list of awards and activities speaks best for her most admirable trait--an inexhaustible will to help and participate. She won the Hewitt Award for Outstanding Sportsmanship and the C. A-. W. D. C. Award. She was class treasurer as a freshman, secretary of the Student Council as a sophomore and a chorus member for three years. This year, she attended the Eastern Connecticut Music Festival. As a cheerleader for four years—junior varsity captain freshman year and varsity captain junior year—she also received an award for achievement. She is presently secretary of the National Honor Society and literary editor of the Leo ’66”. Linda's fine character, which has already received recognition, will surely award her with a full and happy life. JUNE CAROLYN FARRAR June One won't remember June without recalling the stack of mystery novels she usually carried with her to read during her spare minutes. A loyal classmate, she has served on a committee for every dance our class has sponsored, giving freely of her time and ambition. This ambition has been indeed great for she was one of the few who had enough credits to graduate even before beginning her senior year. She was also the mystery student in the magazine drive, which means she was specially awarded for the effort she had shown. June's will to learn and to work will doubtlessly continue to bring her success. 19
