Superintendent of Schools To the class of 1964: As you leave behind your beloved Wheeler High School In search of new horizons, my fondest personal wish for future happiness goes with you. You have learned to work together, to play together, and to share together. Through cooperation and understanding, you now know that goals unattainable by the efforts of one are easily achieved by the harnessed efforts of many. As the years unfold, let us resolve that our mutual efforts may erase the hatred, the bigotry, and the prejudice which now exists in our country. Let us hope that some day we may be truly able to say that in our nation we indeed have provided an equal opportunity for all. May God bless you In all of your future endeavors. Adolph M. Zukowski Superintendent of Schools

Principal Graduates, Graduation is both a time for looking ahead and a time for looking back. Perhaps the view is more to the future than to the past inasmuch as the forward view means a break with the ties of youth and a step into the adult world. In years ahead you will frequently open this yearbook and reminisce. You will be doing what many people have done so many times before you - you will be looking to the past. There is merit In so doing. The past, involving much that is pleasant or unpleasant, holds a positive element of value in that it can serve as an excellent guide in giving direction to the future. The unfinished can be completed. Dreams of youth can be reactivated and, given different dimensions, become realities of sweeping significance. Let the past be past but wean from it the important messages contained therein. This is the tremendous value of all history. I extend to you my sincerest congratulations and my warmest wishes for much happiness and success. 3
