SANDRA M. RICE English Bridgewater State Teachers College, Bridgewater, Massachusetts prepared Miss Rice for us. This is her second year teaching English in the Junior High. Miss Rice was responsible for establishing girls' sports in our school. Often after school, the shrill blast from a whistle turns the attention of those in the gym to Coach Rice standing in the middle of the gym shooing the boys off the floor so that the girls can practice. DANIEL C. SCHOFIELD Social Studies - English He has a B.S. degree in social studies and English, which he received from the University of Chattanooga in Tennessee. It is the general concensus that Mr. Schofield must have a stout heart because to our school again this year even Class of '63 for

SYLVESTER MORRONE English - Reading - Math Another new faculty member is Mr. Morrone who received an A.B. degree from Providence College and an M.A. degree from Columbia University. Mr. Morrone is a hardened veteran on the study hall battlefield. When he takes his command beside the piano, well-armed with detention slips, he quickly causes the students to surrender and succumb to quiet studying. RUTH B. PROSSER Business Education Mrs. Prosser was graduated from Union College where she received a B.S. degree. She has been a teacher at Wheeler for seven years and has been an indispensable member of the Business Department. They said it couldn’t be done, but Mrs. Prosser did it, by teaching three classes at the same time in the same room.

 VIRGINIA G. WESTCOTT Science Mrs. Westcott received a 6. S. degree in science from Bridgewater State Teachers College in Massachusetts. She is now serving as a part-time science teacher. JOHN V. POTTER American History Mr. Potter, besides being principal of the elementary school, is teaching American History in the high school. He was graduated from Westminster College in Pennsylvania with a B.A. degree. He also attended the University of Connecticut from which he received an M.A. degree in science and education. He also received a sixth-year professional diploma. MARY S. STRONG English - French This is Mrs. Strong’s first year as a member of Wheeler High’s faculty. She was graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a B.S. degree. Mrs. Strong has also attended Sorbonne and Brown Universities. One must commend her for her excellent self-control as she never scolds the students, but looks’’ them into instant behavior.
