A TRIP INTO TIME We stare in amazement at the North Stonington Parkway and the plastic automobiles coasting through the city. We find Arthur Holman, the eminent engineer, has turned our district into a booming city. Look at that first new brick building! It's the Jacquard Hospital. Judith Stewart is employed as an X-ray technician, and look across the corrider--why there's little Judy Bliven making use of her physical therapist degree. Next block down we find the ABC Film Company owned and operated by Paul Ames. I guess running the projector finally paid off. We find Betty Crocker’s new homemaking laboratory round a corner in North Stonington and there's Sally Brown sampling that new chocolate fudge cake mix. That's what I call living! In the eastern suburbs we see a monstrous construction. Let's take a closer gander--it's the new Whitney Stadium, erected in honor of our famous Coach. Sounds as though someone just hit a home run. Coach Jon Bayer is out on the mound arguing with the umpire. It seems he claims that the Route 84 Pirates pitcher, Fred Roberts, balked on the pitch. We hear Bayer's Lantern Hill Indians have quite a record--all losses. John Gagne is in the spectators' choice seats. He really rates with that new monkey suit , and take a look at those bars, stripes and medals. The next block down, we find an ultra-modern shopping center. The Debuteen Fashion Shoppe has fashions created by Audrey Main. We used to think Dior liked to be different! Those new Marine Uniforms in the Army and Navy Shop are really causing a commotion. William McGowan is just signing up again for another hitch in the Marines--that uniform must have caught his eye. That Ruby West is really living. She works as a secretary in the sign-up office for all of Uncle Sam's Boys. Well it surely was a wonderful but short vacation into 1967. Cheer up, only ten short years--isn't it worth waiting for?
