Page Eighteen Thr' XVHEELERITE Baseball The Wheeler School baseball squad started the 1942 season minus a coach. To take this position the letter men of the baseball team decided to appoint Bar- ney Holliday, ex-Westerly High School sports star. The Wheelerites opened their campaign with eight v-eterans from last year's squad who are as follows: William Barker, catcher, Kenneth Sorensen, pitcher and fielderg Ralph Main, first base, Thomas York second base' Ward Gray centeriield and Roy Collins right field and pltchei To fill in at left field, Coach Holliday chose James McColl, a freshman. Although the names mentioned above are the start- ing lineup, the Northies have some very capable substitutes in Royce Gray, utility fielder, Royd Jackson and Edwin Dey, out- fielders. The rest of the squad consist of James Wheeler, David Palmer, Douglas Halley, and Frank Thurston. With practically the same team as last year, Wheeler should have a pretty good outlook for the season JACK SORENSEN BASEBALL TEAM 9 I 7 7 A ' 7 4' Stamlinfz. L. to R.-James McColl.
