Rockets fly at Wheeler too! Physics Class members, under the direction of Mr. Staska, made rockets and estimated how high their rockets would go. Tom llic came closest to his pre- diction. In picture A. the makers of the rockets from left to right were: Mike Reisinger, Caryn Yonko, john Hawkins, Larry Davis, Paul Conrick, Dennis Uskert, and Torn Ilic. B. Larry Davis hooked up the wires from the battery to the rocket. C. Larry Davis hooked up the wires to all the rockets. 1 L, L., ,, , is I. Page 29. Although the teachers won, the Varsity gave them a good fight. D. Mr. Betz served a hard serve which the Varsity had trouble returning. E. The teachers prepared to get back to the game. F. Faculty, Sophomores Triumph as -M On a cold night in March the Seniors and Faculty bat tled in the annual Faculty-Senior basketball game. The Fearless Faculty defeated the Spectacular seniors 124-99. ln A BELOW Mr. Belsaas made a shot as Mike Romine unsuccessfully defended. In B Mr. Black and Greg Powell battle for a jump ball while Mr. I-Ierlit and joe Simatovich await action. In C Mr. Black concentrated on this shot to put the Faculty ahead 18-6. The girl's class tourney was held on two consecutive nights. In first night action the Sophomore Superstars defeated the Fighting Freshmen and the Super Seniors defeated the Giant juniors. In the championship game the Sophomore Superstars outlasted the Super Seniors 19-16. In A Kathy Miller blocks a Lori Bet: shot. ln B julie Shabi and Bonnie Hall fight for a jump ball.
